PUSHING THROUGH HARD TIMES, 9 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO KEEP GRINDING

There is one thing we all know: life is hard. No matter what you do, how much money you make, how stable you are, there will always be moments of hardship whether you like it or not. It is just a fact of life, if you accept this reality, then you are already a step ahead in the game. I accept this fact because I find that when I try to avoid the hard stuff, it makes things more frustrating and complicated in the long run. With this in mind, there are still ways that you can do to optimize your grind and keep pushing forward. Apply these tips and see how they help you with getting through those painful and difficult times.

Resist giving in to destructive temptations

I know that piece of cake or those videogames look like so much pleasure, but unless you want to feel regret, later on, it’s best to pass. When life gets rough, it is very easy to find relief from all the stress through actions that destroy us. Why? Because they are easy, they feel satisfying at the moment, but if you resist, you will feel much better afterward. Not to say that having a piece of cake or playing some videogames occasionally to celebrate is a bad idea, just make sure you earn it.

Move and get outside

Moving outside, in my opinion, is one of the greatest things you can do in any day, in my experience, it makes me happier and relaxed to tackle the challenges that are to come ahead. Additionally, exercise is another one of those exceptional things, especially when you feel frustrated. If the energy is down today, even some light movement or a walk can help. Why not combine the two and get an epic upgrade? Start by going for a 10 or 20-minute walk and see how you feel, I know you’ll to be surprised. Who knew walking to the corner store was so beneficial?

Get social

Who in the world likes to be isolated all the time? People that will lift you up, no matter the situation, are the ones you should be looking for. Find some trustworthy friends and family that you can trust and dismantle your struggles. Try doing things with these people like listening to music, playing a game, or watching a movie. Humans are made for social interactions, you never know what you might get from an awesome interaction with someone you love! And always remember to look for help, it can save you a lot of unnecessary struggle and time.

Listen to inspirational talks and videos

As much as there is bad content, there is also plenty of good content out there. Positive videos like motivational speeches, ted talks, and music can help set up the positive thinking that you will need to keep going. So pick up that speaker and hit it!

Do something you enjoy

There is nothing more effective in getting your thoughts away from negativity. Don’t say there is nothing that interests you, there is something for everyone. Explore and look around if you don’t already know something, its always good to start something new. Life is filled with surprises, you never know what you might find.

Reduce stress as much as possible

Unnecessary stress is bad. With that in mind, it should be a daily practice to lower the stress in our lives with techniques such as meditation, especially through tough times. Some things you can do are getting negative people out of your life, eating healthy food, relaxing, or simply breathing deeply. Try taking in 5 deep breaths, counting to 5 and exhaling to 6, and see how you feel afterward. If done correctly, it is a quick and easy way to bring stress levels down. As Wayne Dyer said, “You can’t always control what goes on outside, but you can always control what goes on inside.”

Avoid beating yourself up

This goes hand in hand with the previous point, the worst thing you can do is hate yourself for any past things you might have done. It just increases your stress and negativity, there is no point in worrying. If it was your fault, then analyze what you did wrong, learn, and move on. There will be ups and downs in life, all that matters is if you did your best.

Feed your soul

Your soul is what makes you alive! Meditate, pray, do yoga, practice mindfulness, or journal. You will be amazed by how your life changes toward the better with these simple practices. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

Don’t give up and persevere

All in all, it comes down to this, just keep going. There’s no magic to it, there are no short cuts, it’s simple but its work. If you persevere, you will get closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Most of the time, pain is your friend, it will help you grow and move forward. The main take away I want for you to take is this, there will be hard times and there will be good times. Acceptance of this will set you one step further from everyone else. While others may look for comfort during difficult situations, you, on the other hand, know what’s right and will show discipline by doing things that will enhance, not destroy yourself.
